Art in the Afternoon

We have combined the art of Anita Jung’s New Media course at the University of Iowa with the ArtiFactory’s Foiling Studio Group. Foiling is a unique art form that allows for a lot of creativity and experimentation. The Art in the Afternoon May 21 at 1 pm will bring together the different artistic perspectives and techniques of this art form. The Reception on May 12 from 7 to 9 pm will also be a great opportunity to view the foiled artwork and appreciate the creative outcomes of this collaboration.

The artists include Kyle Agnew, Meghan Dehner, Molly Donovan, Annie Flood, Anita Jung, and Alison Kenaston from the New Media for Printmaking class. Artists from the ArtiFactory include Deanne Wortman, Mei-Ling Joiner, Helene Donta, Peter Hlavin and Robert Richardson.

September Art In the Afternoon

Latif Behroz

Latif Behroz is a peace volunteer who has done “art and graffiti for peace”; a series of paintings on walls in Kabul, Afghanistan. Along with his activist friends, Latif has also set “The Kindness Wall of Kabul”: a painted wall where people can leave clothes and other items for those in need. (The wall is featured in The New York Times, March 24, 2016). Latif is currently a student at Scattergood Friends School in West Branch and wants to continue the Kindness Wall project here in Iowa City.
